Imran Jawaid specialises in comprehensive ophthalmic care for children, alongside squint (strabismus) and cataract surgery in adults.
Ophthalmic care for children we offer includes strabismus, eyelid lumps and bumps, allergic eye disease, ocular inflammation in children, childhood cataract, retinal abnormalities, congenital anomalies and double vision.
Alongside his paediatric practice, Mr Imran Jawaid specialises in treating squint, also known as strabismus, either reoccurring after surgery in childhood or as a result of trauma. He also performs cataract surgery in adults.
If your child has been diagnosed as myopic or short-sighted, it is likely that their long-distance vision will continue to worsen over time. Now, there are ways to slow down this progressive condition.
Typically, their sight will be corrected with glasses or contact lenses, but you may also be recommended low-dose atropine eye drops. The prescription drops can be used to slow down the progression of short-sightedness. A decision can be made on the suitability of this after a thorough ophthalmic consultation.
